As the Delta variant of the coronavirus is hitting all of the United States hard and is now beginning to be felt in North Dakota, one has to wonder what it will take for those who have chosen to remain unvaccinated to finally get the shots.
In this week’s issue of the McKenzie County Farmer, we carried some very alarming numbers of how many unvaccinated people have been admitted into just one of the state’s major hospitals as a result of the virus. On Aug. 24, Sanford Health in Bismarck was reporting that of the 85 patients hospitalized due to COVID, 71 were unvaccinated, while 19 of the 21 patients admitted into its intensive care unit were unvaccinated. And of the 11 people put on ventilators, 10 of them were unvaccinated.
