vote to join electrical union

By an overwhelming 25-1 vote on Monday, Nov. 21, employees of McKenzie Electric Cooperative approved joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union. The cooperative had 26 employees eligible to vote for union membership.

Wake Up Santa tops the
week’s Christmas activities

"Christmas Around Town" comes on strong even before the second weekend of December, with kids events, a lighting contest and a class for making Gingerbread Houses, sponsored by the Watford City Area Chamber of Commerce. And every Friday afternoon there is a drawing for either Watford City Bucks or beef roasts.

Wrestling Wolves open season
at Velva Multiple Dec. 2 & 3

When the Watford City varsity wrestling team takes to the mat for its season opener at the Velva Multiple on Dec. 2 and 3, Dave Dougherty, Wolves head coach, will be fielding one of the youngest teams that he has for years. But even though the team will be young, Dougherty believes that this year’s team will grow with experience to become a solid team.

North Unit to offer winter adventures

The public is invited to participate in afternoon cross-country skiing or hiking adventures at the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Volunteer Ranger John Heiser will lead the half-day long wilderness hikes.
