Wayne Johnson

Wayne R. Johnson, 73, of Mandan, N.D., formerly of Watford City, N.D., died Sunday evening, Jan. 2, 2011, at Medcenter One in Bismarck, N.D.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Fulkerson Funeral Home in Watford City, with Bruce Gunderson officiating. Military Honors were provided by the American Legion Post #9005 Honor Guard of Watford City. Interment of Wayne’s cremains was in the Banks Cemetery.
Wayne was born on June 18, 1937,  in Watford City, the son of Elmer and Erna (Roesner) Johnson. He completed his elementary education in the Ryde Anderson Wilcox country schools and graduated from Watford City High School in 1955. Wayne attended college for two years before enlisting in the United States Army. He spent three and a half years in the Army, and two and a half years of that was spent in Germany as a military intelligence specialist.
After his discharge from the Army, Wayne completed his education at the University of North Dakota with a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. For many years he worked as a Right of Way Agent for the energy industry, which he thoroughly enjoyed! In addition, Wayne worked in the insurance industry for many years.
He is survived by his son, Jesse Jay Johnson, Bismarck, N.D.; his two brothers, Dennis (Vonnie) Johnson, Watford City, and Russell (Sandy) Johnson, West Fargo, N.D.; his two sisters, Jeanette (Jack) Richardsom, Edmond, Okla., and Laura (Denny) West, Atlanta, Ga.; two aunts, Agnes Johnson, Watford City, and Doris Genoff, Montrose, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Erna Johnson.
