Albert Jarmin

Albert (Abby) Jarmin, 74, Ross, died peacefully on Monday, June 14, 2010, in the Stanley Hospital. He was born on Sept. 16, 1935, on the family farm south of Stanley, to Dewey and Mabel (Stave) Jarmin. He was raised there and attended school in Stanley. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
Albert married Mary Vachal on Nov. 9, 1957, in Stanley. He worked in the oil field at various locations throughout North Dakota and finally settled in New Town in 1961. In 1973, they moved to Mary’s family farm south of Ross where he started farming, and also continued to work in the oil field. He remained there until he entered the hospital in March of 2010.
Abby loved the outdoors! His true passion was fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed camping, gardening and canning, driving around the neighborhood with his dog, and card playing.
Survivors: sons, Jubal (Deann), Randy (Brenda), Tracey (Jaci), all of Stanley; grandchildren, Mari, Adam, Josh, Zach, Taylor, Gaige, and Abbie; sisters, Doris (Alvin) Boger, of Garrison, Betty Hodson, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ann (Doug) Calvert, of Snohomish, Wash., Bonnie (Dave) Olson, of Palermo; brother, Marv (Miriam) Jarmin, of Mount Vernon, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Sally (Greg) Reep, of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Joyce Vachal, of Hazen; and numerous cousins.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents, Dewey and Mabel; his brother, Charles; and his sister, Louise.
