Leon P. Yesel, age 52 of Dunlap, passed away at 10:43 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at his residence.
He was born on July 12, 1957, in Williston, N.D., to Leo and Phyllis Thompson Yesel. Leon married Kim Schwartz on July 12, 1980 in Watford City, N.D.
Leon was employed as a quality and reliability manager for Caterpillar.
He attended Northwoods Community Church, loved spending time with his family, enjoyed photography, bicycling and cars.
Leon is survived by his parents Leo and Phyllis Yesel of Watford City, N.D.; his wife, Kim of 29 years; his children Ryan Yesel, Nicole Yesel, Alissa Yesel and Aaron Yesel; his brothers Steven (Stephanie) Yesel of Bismarck, N.D., and Blaine (Lisa) Yesel of Melbourne, Fla.; his sisters Charlene (Curtis) Samuelson and Teresa (Kent) Norbeck, both of Watford City, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
Leon was preceded in death by a brother, Kelly Yesel, in 1992.
A celebration of Leon’s life was held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.
Remains will be transferred to Fulkerson Funeral Home in Watford City, N.D., for local services tentatively set for 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Epiphany Catholic Church with Rev. John Pfeifer officiating and interment in Schafer Cemetery.
