Ethel Christianson

Ethel A. Christianson, 88 of Sidney, Mont., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care Facility.
Ethel Agatha was born on June 5, 1927, in Alexander, N.D., to Frank and Armosa (Gregorie) Weber. Ethel was one of 16 children.
She graduated from Alexander High School, where she was very active in sports, especially basketball and spent Saturday nights roller skating.  
Ethel was united in marriage to Clarence Christianson in Sidney, Mont. on Aug. 9, 1948. They farmed the family farm south of Alexander and raised two daughters. Clarence and Ethel moved to Sidney in 1971.
She was employed at the Yellowstone Lunch, at the Sidney Stockyard and later at the M & M Café until she retired at the age of 75.
Her husband, Clarence passed away in 1988 and Ethel continued to live in her home until she moved into the Crestwood Inn. Ethel later entered the Sidney Health Center Extended Care Facility, where she resided until her death.
Ethel was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Ethel was clerk of Moline School for several years, she was a 4-H leader, a member of the Birthday Club and Knutty Knitters Club in Alexander, and also one in Sidney, Mont. She was an avid knitter and crocheter. Other hobbies were keeping a big garden and flower beds.
Survivors include, her daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Evanson, Livingston, Mont. and Frankie (Jess) Burman, Sidney, Mont.; her four grandchildren, Todd, Jamie, BJ and TJ; her seven great-grandchildren, Cameron, Makiah, Connor, Orion, Trinity, Kylee and Carter; brothers, Don Weber, Williston, N.D. and Art (Gen) Weber, Alexander, N.D.; sister, Dorothy Magnuson, Albany, Ore.; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; three brothers, Jim, Bud, and Joe; nine sisters, Marie, Grace, Ruth, Helen, Gert, Effie, Gladys, Margie and Lorraine.
Mass of the Christian Burial for Ethel were at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Sidney. Father Jim O’Neil presided
Wake services were at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Fulkerson-Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Sidney. Interment will be in the Sidney Cemetery in Sidney, Mont. under the direction of the Fulkerson-Stevenson Funeral Home of Sidney.
