Andrew Eikren

Andrew J. Eikren, 70, a 16-year resident of Cave Creek, Ariz., died Friday, March 7.
Andy was born May 3, 1943, to Peter and Edith Eikren in Williston, N.D. Raised in Alexander, N.D., he graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., with the class of ‘65. After graduation, he entered Officer Candidate School with the U.S. Navy and served four years, several years aboard the USS Ranger. He traveled extensively throughout Europe and Mexico before becoming a DOD civilian employee at Ft. Lewis Wash.
In 1970, he married Pamela Renfrow and they had two daughters, April and Autumn, while stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. He returned to Ft. Lewis and later married Kathleen Sliger and they had a son and a daughter, Joshua and Kelsey, while living in Gig Harbor, Wash., later moving to Fishers, Ind. He completed his career in Indiana and retired in 1997. During retirement, Andy raised Joshua and Kelsey in Cave Creek, Ariz. He spent his last years traveling the country, camping, fishing and visiting with friends and family throughout the states.
He is survived by his four children, April Brinson (Justin), Round Rock, Texas; Autumn Meyer (Jeremy), Spokane, Wash.; Senior Airman Joshua Eikren (Lauren), Scott AFB, Ill.; Kelsey Eikren, Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Charlotte and Felix Brinson, Abby Meyer, and baby due in March to Joshua and Lauren; sister, Paula (Duainne) Bourcy, Devils Lake, N.D.; brothers Peter (Terri) Eikren, Henning, Minn.; and Mark (Sherry) Eikren, Albuquerque, N.M.
