Glen Kelter

Glen Kelter, 76, a McKenzie County, N.D., area farmer, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Home in Watford City, N.D. His funeral service was held Friday, July 31, 2009, at First Lutheran Church in Williston. Rev. Martin Mock officiated and interment was at the Riverview Cemetery in Williston.
Glen Everett Kelter was born on the family farm south of Williston in McKenzie County on Aug. 8, 1932, to John and Susie (Goracke) Kelter. He was raised on the family farm and attended Panger School in McKenzie County. On May 19, 1956, he was united in marriage to Darlene Agnes Guderjahn in Williston. They established their home south of Williston in McKenzie County, where they raised their family. Darlene passed away in April of 1993. Glen continued to farm the land. He also worked at Sitting Bull Livestock where he enjoyed playing cards in the scale house. He loved fishing, farming, and making his rounds in town visiting with his friends. He was a great observer of people.
Glen is survived by his daughter, Lori K. Herfurth and her husband, Daniel, of Springfield, Minn., his son, Larry Kelter, and his special friend, Sherry, of rural Williston; two grandsons, Karson and Nathan Herfurth both of Springfield, Minn., three sisters-in-law, Deloris Karnopp of Rolla, N.D., Rosella Carr and her husband, Donald, of Grenora, N.D., and Connie Garner of Lampasas, Texas; three brothers-in-law, Raymond Armstrong and his wife, Alberta, of Billings, Mont., Robert Guderjahn and Virgil Guderjahn, both of Williston, N.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene; two sisters, Clara Kelter and Edna Devitt; and two brothers-in-law, Basil Devitt and Clarence Karnopp.
