Ivy Heggen

Ivy Faye Heggen, 93, of Watford City, N.D., formerly of Rawson, N.D., died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Watford City. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at First Lutheran Church in Watford City. Pastor Rob Favorite officiated and interment was held at the Alexander Cemetery.  
Ivy Faye Heggen was born Nov. 22, 1919, to Peter and Gladys (Stedman) Anderson in Berg, N.D. She was raised in Berg, attending rural school through the eighth grade, and then attended Sanish High School for two more years.
On Sept. 4, 1942, Ivy was united in marriage to Norman Heggen at Longview, Wash., where Norman was stationed at Fort Lewis.  While Norman was in the service, Ivy lived with his sister, Mabel, until he was transferred. Norman was discharged in the fall of 1945 and returned home.  The couple made their home in Rawson, N.D. They lived there until Norman passed away in July 2002. Ivy then moved to Williston. In 2006, she moved to Watford City and lived in the Horizon until 2009 when she moved into the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
Ivy was active in the Legion Auxilliary, Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and Sr. Citizens in Alexander. She was a member of the Eagles and VFW Auxillary in Watford City and worked many years with the American Cancer Society in Watford City. She loved to bowl and enjoyed sports of all kinds, people and her loving family.
Ivy is survived by her daughter, Linda (Lynn) Wold of Watford City, N.D.; grandson, Shayne (Anne) Heggen of Rawson, N.D.; granddaughters, Sarah (Jay) Lewis of Rawson, N.D., Marn Heggen of Boulder, Colo., and Emily Heggen of Reno, Nev.; great- grandchildren, Kalden, Ashley, Ian, Colten and Reese; step-grandchildren, Wade (Dana) Wold and Wynn (Shirley) Wold Wanda Brown; step great-grandchildren, Kira, Chandra Madison, Logan, Abby, Cambree and Kelly; and her sister, Ida Bernston of Grand Forks, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John Heggen, granddaughter; Rennee Heggen,  two brothers; Wallace and Leonard, four sisters; Eunice, Maxine, Verna, and Marion.
