Frank C. Stewart was born July 7, 1934, in Green County, Ark., the oldest of six children to Hoyt and Gillie (Willcockson) Stewart. He attended country school at Walcott, Ark., and graduated from Green County Tech High School in 1952. In 1945, Frank made Jesus the Savior of his life at Walcott Baptist Church. As a young boy, Frank picked cotton by hand before the days of machine pickers.  He also plowed the fields with horses and remembered the days before there was electricity.
After graduation, Frank stayed on the farm and worked for other farmers in the area for a few years. He then went to work for General Motors Company in Flint, Mich., until he was drafted into Uncle Sam’s Army in 1956. He took basic training at Fort Hood, Texas. He then spent 18 months in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1958.
He worked in St. Petersburg, Fla., for a few months, and then went to work for Halliburton Company in Duncan, Okla. In March 1959, Frank was transferred to Tioga, N.D., then later to Watford City. In 1965, he went to work for Texaco Incorporated in Charlson, N.D.
On Feb. 14, 1963, Frank was united in marriage to Esther Thomas. They lived in Watford City and transferred to Glendive, Mont., in 1974. In 1987, they moved back to the Charlson area. Frank retired from Texaco in Sept. 1994, and he and Esther remained in Watford City.
In their retirement years, Frank and Esther enjoyed travelling, hunting and fishing-always together. The highlight of their retirement was their trip to Alaska. Esther passed away in 2011 and Frank continued to live in Watford City.
Frank is survived by brothers, Sam (Madonna) Stewart, Jack (Carolyn) Stewart, and Jim Stewart all of Walcott, Ark., and Bruce (Glenda) Stewart of Paragould, Ark.; brother-in-law, Cloyes Hyde of Paragould, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
