Janet Allen

Mass of Christian Burial, for Janet Leone Miller Allen was on Friday, May 18, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Bowman. Father David Morman celebrated the Mass with burial following in the Bowman Cemetery. There was a Rosary and Scripture Service on Thursday evening, at the St. Charles Catholic Church.
Janet Leone Miller Allen was born Dec. 4, 1964, to Roland Joseph Miller and Marvis Johnson Miller at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, N.D. She was the 7th of eight children. Janet was raised on the family farm northwest of Amidon, N.D. She attended Amidon Elementary and graduated from Bowman High School in 1983. She attended Dickinson State College to further her education. She traveled with friends and worked as a nanny in Kingston, Mass. She also baby-sat for her nieces, nephews and friends’ children.
For the next 24 years, she worked as a CNA/CMA for Sunset Care Corporation in Bowman, N.D., where she was a dedicated employee who loved the residents and treated them like family. During this time in 1994, she met and married Aaron Allen on June 9, 1995, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Bowman, where all five of her sisters were her attendants. A joyful day! To this loving union, two beautiful daughters completed this family, Haly Lynn, and Hope Elizabeth. They were the joy and light of Janet’s life. She was proud of everything they did and loved visiting about them.
Janet loved traveling and camping with Aaron and her girls and being with friends and family. A special time was always with her mom and her five sisters in the kitchen laughing and all talking at the same time.
At the time of her death, she worked as a CNA at Ashley Regional Medical Center in Vernal, Utah, where she lived with her family since November 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Aaron, Vernal, Utah; her daughters, Haly and Hope, Vernal, Utah; family dog, Sam; her parents, Buster and Marvis Miller, Bowman N.D.; siblings, Michell (Warren) Flath, Bowman, N.D., Gary (Stacey) Miller, Amidon, N.D., Karen (Wayne) Gerbig, Amidon, N.D., Rene (Bob) Whalen, Hamilton, Mont., Rhonda Buer (Joe Hofmann) Huntley, Mont., Brenda (Chris) Palczewski, Bowman, N.D., and Shad Miller, Bismarck, N.D. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and co-workers in North Dakota and Utah.
