Robert B. Murray

Robert B. Murray passed away peacefully in the loving embrace of his wife, Agnes, while surrounded by family at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 6, 2011, at the Franciscan Hospice House in Tacoma, Wash. He left this world with incredible grace, dignity and awareness in the strength of his soul.
Bob married Agnes Stashak of Watford City, N.D., Oct. 14, 1950. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Agnes, and five children: Michael Robert Murray (wife - Ruth), Carol Harpol (husband - Ed), Joanne Paquette, Patrick Murray (wife - Wendy) and Thomas Murray (wife - Carryl) along with 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Robert B. Murray was a single child born Jan. 24, 1922, in Tacoma, Wash., to the proud parents, Emerson and Irma Murray. Robert graduated from West Seattle High School in 1941 and went directly into the Army. In 1946, he returned home and attended Seattle College while working for the I.R.S.
In the early 1960s, Bob and Agnes opened their own Chicken Delight Resturant in Burien, Wash., and closed the doors in 1970.
After the closure of Chicken Delight, Bob began working for the State of Washington, Department of Labor and Industries. In 1986, Bob retired and was able to spend many years traveling with Agnes.
Bob belonged to the American Legion Post 134 in Burien, Wash., and the Citizens Academy. He loved giving back to his community as a block watch volunteer and spending time with his family. Bob also enjoyed reading and collecting books.

A memorial service was held for family and friends on Oct. 15, 2011, in West Seattle, Wash., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
