Blaine Thomas Schaible was born March 14, 1948 in New Rockford, N.D. to parents, John and Hazel (Williams) Schaible. Blaine married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Carla Jean Neustel in Robinson, N.D. at the United Methodist Church on July 17, 1970. Together they raised three wonderful children whom they were very proud of.
Blaine was a caring husband, father, grandpa, friend and a cowboy to the end. He loved being around family, friends, playing with his grandkids, bouncing them around on his back as the best “buckin bronc” out there and felt at home working cattle with his large adopted family.
Blaine was a mechanic by trade, but a cowboy by heart. Any time a neighbor was in need it seemed like he just knew it and would show up to lend a hand. Whether it was working on a piece of equipment, working cows or just going on a ride along to cut the twine on the bales when they were being fed.
Blaine was a true North Dakotan, a man of his word. If he said it he meant it. His passion in life was raising horses, they were an extension of who he was. He loved seeing others enjoy his four-legged friends as much as he did.
Blaine went to be with the Lord on Aug. 26, 2011 as the result of injuries sustained in a horseback riding accident on his property. Blaine will be missed, but not forgotten. It’s not the end of the trail, but the start of a new one. We wish him well and look forward to joining up with him again on that big cattle drive in the sky. The sun will rise and set as it always does and Dad will be overhead watching out for us from above. We love you and miss you, happy trails our beloved friend.
Blaine is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carla, Watford City, N.D.; son, David (Gina) Schaible, Joliet, Mont.; daughters, Shanna (Joe Jr.) Allen, Watford City and Rhonda Schaible, Bismarck, N.D.; grandchildren, Kennadi Wahus, Jace Schaible, Brae Schaible, Raelee Allen, Tarryn Allen, and Mya Allen; brothers, Gary (Judy) Schaible, Martin Schaible, Don (Audrey) Schaible, and Ron Schaible; sister-in-law, Peggy Schaible; sisters, Connie (Mike) Petra and Debbie Schaible.
Blaine was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dennis Schaible; and sister, Valerie Schaible.
