Watford downs New Town for District 15 boys basketball title

With a 74-55 win over New Town in the District 15 Boys Basketball Tournament on Monday night, the Watford City Wolves, with a 19-3 season record, will be taking their No. 1 seed from the district tournament into the Region 8 Tournament, which gets underway on Monday, March 8 at Williston State College.

Boys to host Dickinson Trinity on Friday

It wasn’t the prettiest of wins, but the Watford City Wolves boys basketball team used solid free throw shooting in the final minute to defeat the Trinity Christian Crusaders 61-54 last Tuesday. With the win, the Wolves improved their season record to 13-3.

The Mandaree and Watford City girls basketball teams earned their spots in the upcoming Region 8 Tournament as the Warriors took second place falling to the Stanley Blue Jays 50-39 in the District 15 title game while the Wolves knocked off New Town 45-41 in the regional qualifying game on Saturday.
