Watford girls fall to Bucs 83-40

Wolves host Bottineau on Saturday

The Watford City varsity girls basketball team saw their season record drop to 2-5 last Tuesday as the Wolves fell to a very talented Beach Bucs team 83-40. This coming week, the Wolves will travel to Trenton on Thursday before hosting Bottineau Saturday afternoon.

Beach 83, Watford City 40

Watford City had no answer to a very physical and talented Beach team last Tuesday afternoon as the Bucs rolled over the Wolves 83-40.

The Wolves trailed the Bucs 22-8 at the end of the first quarter and were outscored in each of the next three quarters of play. Beach posted a 46-20 halftime lead and led 68-28 at the end of three quarters.

Kara Johnsrud was the only Watford City player to hit double figures in scoring as she ended the game with 10 points. Also scoring for the Wolves was Mamie Kieson with seven points, Olivia Sundeen with six points, Shakira McLaughlin with five points, Marti Quale with four points, Karlee Hanna and Karson Pederson with three points each and Jayme Johnson with two points.
