Three Watford City football players, Justin Flatland, Jacob Quale and Kevin Sanford have been selected by the North Dakota High School Coaches Association to play on the 11 Man West Team in the 36th annual 2009 Shrine Bowl.
The 11 Man game will be played at 4 p.m. on July 18 at the Alerus in Grand Forks. The West Team will be coached by Mark Gibson of Bismarck.
Flatland has also been selected to play in the 2009 Badlands Bowl, which will practice in Dickinson and then make the trip to Miles City, Mont., on June 20. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Team North Dakota will be coached by Brad Sandy of Harvey.
Montana beat North Dakota 54-14 in last year’s contest and holds an 11-4 series lead.
