Girls 1,600 meter relay team wins State B Track title

The Watford City girls track team added another trophy to their collection as the Wolves 1,600 meter relay team consisting of Dani Bates, Kade Ross, Marti Quale and Sibee Jokela  bested the rest of the Class B ranks on Saturday afternoon to claim the state title with a time of 4:10.56.
With the first place finish, the relay team contributed 10 of the 19 points that the Wolves’ girls team would earn en route to a 13th place finish at the State Track & Field Meet in Bismarck this past Friday and Saturday.
Also placing for the girls was the 3,200 meter relay team of Stephanie Deutsch, Kristen Stenehjem, Sibee Jokela and Kade Ross with a fifth place finish; Stephanie Deutsch with an eighth place finish in the 800 meter run; Marti Quale with an eighth place finish in the 300 meter hurdles; and McKayla Haugeberg with a seventh place finish in the long jump and an eighth place finish in the javelin.

400 Meter Relay: 13. Watford City (Kara Langerud, Sibee Jokela, Olivia Sundeen, Dani Bates), 52.55.
800 Meter Relay: 12. Watford City (Dani Bates, McKayla Haugeberg, Olivia Sundeen, Sibee Jokela), 1:49.70.
1,600 Meter Relay: 1. Watford City (Dani Bates, Kade Ross, Marti Quale, Sibee Jokela), 4:10.56.
3,200 Meter Relay: 5. Watford City (Stephanie Deutsch, Kristen Stenehjem, Sibee Jokela, Kade Ross), 10:14.42.
Triple Jump: 14. McKayla Haugeberg, 32’10.50”.
Long Jump: 7. McKayla Haugeberg, 16’4.25”.
Javelin: 8. McKayla Haugeberg, 108’1”.
