Warriors hand Wolves second loss of the season

Mandaree handed Watford City it second loss of the season last Tuesday as the Warriors defeated the Wolves 60-51. With the loss, the Wolves’ season record dropped to 9-2, while Mandaree’s record improved to 11-2 with the win.
This week, the Wolves will be on the road as they travel to New Town on Thursday and then travel to Trenton on Saturday.
Mandaree 60, Watford City 51
Shawn Fulwider came off the bench for Watford City to pour in a game high 20 points, but the Wolves proved to be no match for a very quick Mandaree team last Tuesday evening as the Warriors defeated the Wolves 60-51.
Mandaree took control of the game early in the first quarter as the Warriors went on an 11-0 scoring spree in the first two minutes of play before the Wolves would battle back to trail 16-12 at the end of the quarter.
But Mandaree’s quickness and height advantage proved to be the difference in the game as the Warriors would outscore the Wolves 17-7 in the second quarter to increase their lead to 14 points, 33-19, at halftime.
While the Wolves would cut Mandaree’s lead to nine points, 43-34, at the end of the third quarter, Mandaree would hold off a final challenge by Watford City in the fourth quarter.
Joining Fulwider in double figures for Watford City was Trey Jacobosn with 17 points.
Mandaree had three players in double figures in the win with Mike DeVille pacing the Warriors with 14 points, while Richard Hosie and Devin Yellow Wolf would net 12 points each.
Rounding out the scoring for Watford City was Reid Johnson with six points, Tyler Flatland with four points and Dillon Langerud with three points.
Also scoring for Mandaree was David Dobbs with nine points, Aaron Young Bird with eight points and Dylan Costello with five points.
