Second inning rally leads Wolves to win

Watford City’s varsity girls softball team split a pair of games this past week losing to Stanley, 15-10, before bouncing back to defeat Central McLean, 13-3.

Stanley 15, Watford City 10
In a real slugfest that saw a combined 15 hits, Stanley got the best of Watford City on April 29, as the Blue Jays defeated the Wolves, 15-10.
After playing to a 6-6 tie after two innings of play, the Blue Jays would tack on nine unanswered runs to hold a 15-6 lead, as the Wolves took to their last bats in the top of the seventh inning.
While Watford City would score four runs in the final at bat, the Wolves were unable to overcome their deficit.
Kamryn Grimes led the Wolves with two doubles and three RBIs, while Ashley Killion and Teddi Dwyer each had two RBIs.
Mikka Haugeberg took the loss on the mound for the Wolves.

Watford City 13, Central McLean 3
After jumping out to a 6-0 first inning lead over Central McLean, Watford City pounded in seven more runs to clinch an easy win on May 6.
Karrisa Monsen and Maddy Hogue led the Watford City hitters with each having a pair of doubles, with Monsen also having three RBIs. Mikka Haugeberg, Maddy Hogue and Teddi Dwyer each had two RBIs.
