Girls down DLB in softball

Watford City’s girls varsity softball team picked up a big road win on Monday as the Wolves blasted Des Lacs-Burlington, 19-4.
The Wolves jumped all over DLB early as Watford City scored eight runs in the first inning to set the tone for the game. After a scoreless second inning, six more Watford City runners would cross the plate in the third inning to build a huge 14-0 lead.
Watford City then added five more runs in the final two innings, while DLB would score four runs.
At the plate, Kaytlyn Grimes was three for four for Watford City with one RBI, while Tessa Dwyer was three for four with three RBIs.
Tori Hopkins picked up the win on the mound for the Wolves.
Watford City’s next action will be on Saturday as the Wolves take on Wilton-Wing on the road and then host Central McLean on Monday, April 28.
