Mogen named to All-State cage team

For Katie Mogen, 2014 will no doubt go down as a banner year for the 5’9” sophomore Watford City basketball player.
Her list of achievements on the basketball court this past season are very impressive. Not only did she net her 1,000th career point during this past season, but she also helped guide her team to the District 15 and Region 8 championships and then on to the State Class B Girls Basketball Tournament.
Along the way, Mogen, who averaged 17.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for the Wolves, was named to the All-District 15 Team, the District 15 All-Tournament Team, and the Region 8 Tournament Team as well as the State All-Tournament Team.
And last week, Mogen was named to the State Class B All-State Second Team by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters.
Players named to the All-State First Team were Fallyn Freije, Lakota-Edmore; Hannah Stewart, Minot Ryan; Rylee Nudell, Maple Valley; Shannon Galegher, Thompson; and Faith Dooley, Central Cass. Named to the Second Team was Karleigh Weber,  Thompson; Hailee Farstveet, Beach; Sarah Hagler, North Star; Gabbie Bohl, Minot Ryan; Karlie Schroeder, New Salem-Almont; Katie Mogen, Watford City; Allie Heisler, North Star; Bailey Waldal, Beach; Kennedy Henningsgard, Hillsboro-Central Valley; Mattie Schmitt, Towner-Granville-Upham; and Hannah Jacobs, Divide County.
