The Watford City boys basketball team picked up two wins this past week, but dropped an important District 15 game to New Town on Thursday night.
The Wolves, who are 9-6 on the season, will wrap up their regular season play this week as Watford City hosts Dickinson Trinity on Saturday and Ray on Monday, Feb. 10.

Watford City 52, White Shield 49
In a wild District 15 game that wasn’t decided until the final seconds, Watford City pulled off a 52-49 win as David Kline drained a three-pointer with less than 30 seconds to secure a key win for the Wolves over White Shield.
The Wolves led the Warriors, 8-7, at the end of the first quarter and clung on to that single digit advantage at the end of two quarters of play.
White Shield would take control of the action in the third quarter as the Warriors outscored the Wolves, 15-12, to take a 36-34 lead in the final eight minutes of play.
With the game’s outcome hanging in the balance as the clock ticked off the seconds of the game, Kline drained the running three-pointer to give the Wolves the win.
Kline led the Wolves in scoring with 13 points, while Mitchell Liebel and Logan Fettig netted eight points each in the winning effort.
Also scoring for Watford City was Dustin Kleppen with seven points, Bo Cook with six points, Andrew Sampsel with four points, while Seth Indergard and Charlie Villanueva ended the game with three points each.

Watford City 68, Stanley 43
Watford City held Stanley to single-digit scoring in the second and third quarters on Tuesday as the Wolves rolled over the Blue Jays, 68-43.
While a young Stanley team was able to stay close to the Wolves in the first eight minutes of play, Watford City blew the game wide open in the next two quarters. Watford City led the Blue Jays, 34-16, at halftime and then upped the lead to 24 points, 49-25, at the end of three quarters.
The Wolves had three players score in double figures against Stanley with Dustin Kleppen, Logan Fettig and David Kline netting 20, 13, and 11 points, respectively.
Also scoring for Watford City was Bo Cook with seven points, Cole McGorman with six points, Seth Indergard with three points, while Charlie Villanueva, Mitchell Liebel and Andrew Sampsel ended the game with two points each.

New Town 62, Watford City 48
For two quarters, Watford City and New Town traded leads in a battle between two of the top teams in District 15. But the second half belonged completely to the Eagles as New Town downed the Wolves, 62-48, last Thursday.
The Eagles led the Wolves, 14-11, at the end of the first quarter, but the Wolves would battle back to deadlock the game, 27-27, at halftime.
But the second half was a completely different story as New Town took the game inside to its two big post players. And the Wolves had no answer.
New Town went on a 22-7 scoring run in the third quarter from which the Wolves were never able to respond to.
David Kline and Bo Cook paced the Wolves in scoring with 20 and 13 points, respectively.
Rounding out the scoring for Watford City was Logan Fettig with seven points, Seth Indergard with five points and Andrew Sampsel with three points.
