Wolves are No. 1 going into District 15 Tournament

Watford City’s varsity volleyball team continued to struggle with consistent play as the Wolves fell to the Beulah Miners, 3-1, last Friday.
The Wolves opened the match defeating the Miners, 25-23, before dropping the next three games, 25-18, 25-16 and 25-13.
This week, the Wolves will close out their regular season play when Watford City hosts Heart River on Thursday.
And then the Wolves will host the District 15 Tournament, which begins on Monday, Nov. 4 at the Watford City High School Gymnasium. The Wolves, who are the No. 1 seed going into the tournament, will receive a first round bye and then play in their first tournament game at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 against the winner of the Trenton vs. New Town match.
“This will be a good tournament for us,” states Nancy Deutsch, Wolves’ head coach. “The players are ready and want to win the District Tournament.”
Teams competing in the District Tournament, which will conclude on Thursday, Nov. 7, include Watford City, Williston Trinity Christian, Trenton, New Town, Parshall and White Shield.
Beulah 3, Watford City 1
Watford City saw its season record fall to 5-6 in dual action and 12-15 overall last Friday, as the Wolves fell to the Beulah Miners, 3-1.
In what has become a pattern for the Wolves all season, Watford City started off the match strong and then lost momentum.
The Wolves had two service aces and 21 kills in the match with Amanda Mogen recording one ace, eight kills and 18 digs to lead Watford City.
