Girls golf team takes 1st at Williston meet

The Watford City varsity girls golf team pulled off a big upset on Tuesday as the Wolves knocked off the No. 1-rated Mohall at the Williston Municipal Golf Course.
“This tournament was very exciting and encouraging for our team because we beat Mohall, the No. 1 team from the region last year,” stated Kelli Taylor, girls’ head coach.
Emilie Anderson led the Wolves individually as she fired an 18-hole socre of 94 to take third place. Also placing for Watford City was Bessie Schmitz, 6th, with a score of 100;  Shaunta Miller, 7th, with a score of 102; Jordan Sparby, 8th, with a score of 102; Allison Monsen, 9th, with a score of 103; and Sydney Slais, 14th, with a score of 107.  
The next meet for the girls will be on April 26 when they compete in the Ray Invitational.
