Watford boys take 3rd in first golf meet

Watford City’s boys golf team opened its 2009 season with a third place finish at the Watford City Invitational on Monday afternoon.
Hazen edged Stanley 312 to 313 for first place honors, while the Wolves came in third with a team score of 337.
Chad Marshall of Hazen carded a two-over par, 74, to claim individual honors.
Nick Liebel paced the Watford City boys with a 79, while Seth Dougherty ended with 81. Rounding out the scoring for the Wolves were Skyler Rogness, 88; Chris Larsen, 89; Jesse Weber, 94; and Tanner Wold, 104.
In the junior varsity division, Ryan Monsen led the Wolves with a 101 followed by Jordan Pokrzywinski with a 105. Also scoring on the junior varsity team were Reid Kinden, 124; Dakota Shaver, 125; and Kalden Heggen, 140.
