Tour of Homes to benefit Wellness Center

This Saturday, Nov. 24, Watford City homeowners and businesses will be opening their doors to the public for the McKenzie County Healthcare Systems Tour of Homes.
The event will feature nine new and old Watford City homes and businesses and will allow those who purchase a ticket the chance to tour each location.
“Some are newer homes, but not all of them. One is by the golf course and another is south of Watford City. Then we have one location inside the city limits,” states Bolken. “It is not just a focus on new homes, but a focus on all homes.”
Even now, Bolken states that the Tour of Home Committee members are decorating locations in anticipation of the Tour of Homes event.
The tour begins at The Watford Hotel, where interested participants can purchase their ticket and start off the event with a tour of The Watford Hotel.
“When people purchase their tickets at The Watford, they will get a map of participating home and business addresses. There will be nine locations total on the Tour,” states Bolken, without giving too much away.
All the proceeds from the MCHS Tour of Homes will go to the Hospital Benefit Fund and be donated to the Connie Wold Wellness Center, which is why, though Bolken does not want to disclose the location of the homes, she wants residents to know that the Connie Wold Wellness Center is one of the locations on the tour.
“This will give people a chance to see what their money has gone to,” states Bolken. “People will get a chance to see how far along the construction is and will hopefully, build excitement for the Wellness Center’s Grand Opening in January.”
According to Bolken, the Connie Wold Wellness Center is in mid-construction, but participants will get a good idea of what the building interior will look like and how everything will be laid out.
Additionally, Bolken states that Connie Wold was a Champion of the Tour of Homes when she was alive, which is why doing the Tour of Homes for the benefit of the Wellness Center is fitting.
“It was an event that she loved and spearheaded, so we felt it was appropriate to keep it going and to carry it on in her memory,” states Bolken.
The Tour of Homes will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at The Watford Hotel where the tour begins.
